Godawari Church – First Church of its area

Godawari Church

Godawari church was established in 2011 AD by the christan community of Deurali. It is the only church in Guriwari village and is the oldest one of the Deurali.

Reason behind its establishment :

Before 2000’s there were no any people who follow christinity. Later on, people started learning new things and discovered a very intresting religion. Of course, christinity dosn’t sound so much intresting for you but it was completly new experience to follow to whome who didn’t know about christinity is also a religion before. Later on few family started following the religion after some years that number increased. And people used to gather in someone’s house every saterday for prayeing lord. Later on more people started follow the religion and it was diffecult to gather in someone’s house. So, they established a common place to gather and prayer and named it Godawari Church. This is how the church was established.

Sister Churches :

There was only one church for all the people of Deurali which wasn’t enough. Before, people from different villages of Deurali used to gather in Godawori Church. It was too far for them to reach there so, christien community of Deurali decided to establish some other sister churches.

1. Belani Church :
Belani Church is the sister church of Godawari church established especially for the people living in two village, Belani and Chaurangi. It was established in 2013 AD. Before people of Beluwa also used to gather here until Beluwa Church was established.

2. Beluwa Church :
Beluwa Church is the sister church of Godawari church established for the people of Beluwa. It was established in 2014 AD. Before 2014 AD people of Beluwa used to gather in Belani Church.

3. Koliya Church :
Koliya Church is the sister church of Godawari church established in 2016 AD. It was established for the people of Koliya and hilly area of Deurali. Now a days people from hilly area don’t come here, as they have their own church which is easily accessable for them.

4. Guheri Church :
Guheri Church was newly established church. Its date of establishment was late 2019. People of hilly villages of Deurali gather here every saterdsay. People from Guheri, Thadakhola, Gaidakhola and Gaijataar gather in this church. Before its establlishment they have to gather in Koliya Church but now its really easy for them.

Christmas Celebration
Christmas Celebration

Good aspects of Godawari Church :

– They even do small celebrations in hindus and other religion’s major festivals.
– If you are any other religion other than christinity, don’t worry you can even let you enter the church and celebrate with them.
– At the time of christmas, they invites all the people doesn’t matter which religion you follow.
– In conclusion, they respect all religion equally and they have the feeling of religious tolarance.

Some bad aspects of Godawari Church :

– You are free to enter the church but you would feel like they even want you to follow the same religion.
– They want to ignore using red colored stuffs to just to show themself different from other religion. ( sounds unbeliable right, but its not only in Godawori Church but in most church of Nepal, but now a days this trend is decreased and almost about to end )
– They actually advertise their religion indirectly which doesn’t seems good thing do.

That’s all about Godabari Church. Godawari is not a single church but a group of itself and its sister churches which are all around the Deurali. You are free to visit and learn something new about how they follow their religion. And if you are intrested in following the same religion then are gonna warmly welcome you.

You must visit Godawari church or any of its sister church at the time you christmas. You would enjoy a lot that day. They would offer you a delicious free meal. You can sing and dance with a Santa. Santa even gives you a gift. Christian people of Deurali don’t celebrate Christmas only with their family. Actuall all of them gather togather and celebrate in a group in Church. That’s why you should definately visit the Godawari or its sister church once.

Godawari Church – Maintaining religious tolerance.

Koliya Mahadada Trek – Short one day trek

Koliya Mahadada Trek

Koliya Mahadada Trek is a one day trek route which starts from Koliya Village and ends in Mahadada Village. It’s a short one day trek route. It’s both starting and ending points are in same District and even in same Municipality.

This trek starts from Kolilya, a village lies in Nawalpur district. Once you are in koliya and you are good to start your one day trek. The first challange of this whole trek route is to cross Guribari River. If you are in winter season than it would be so easy for you as the river would be so small. But crossing river in summer/rainy season is a big deal. There is no any bridge till this date but the construction is starting soon. Once you cross river than the journey to climb uphill starts. When you start treking you would meet several locals who would help you guiding you a way. The first village you would reach would be Gaidakhola which is a village where Rhino Waterfall and Rhino River Resort lies. You can have a meal in that resort and start your rest of the journey.

After a 1.5 hours of hike from the Gaidakhola you will reach a beautifull village called Magrat. There you can enjoy the cultral dance of mogar community. Rest in ‘chautari’ in Magrat village for a while and explore the village, meet locals and many more. Don’t spend much time though otherwise you aren’t making to Mahadada. Once you leave the Magrat village after a short hike you would reach small park named Magrat park. This park was build by the villagers of Magrat villagers for the visitors to rest. Take a short rest, refill your water bottle and continue your journey.

After you leave Magrat Park behind than the real trek starts. You would have to climb stright uphills and the last stop is Mahadada. There aren’t any small village and parks on the way now. You would meet some locals though. And after a regular 3 hours of stright uphill trek from Magrat Park, you would finally reach your distination. And your journey ends there.

On the northern side of a Mahadada you would see a clear view of beautiful mountain range of Himalayas. And down on the eastern side you would see a different thing, low land. The view yo low land villageses looks something different in night time. The small light looks like a twinkleing stars. And you would feel like sky is both above and below you. While enjoying a night view don’t forget to check-in to a hotel or you can enjoy home stay as well. And I would prefer home stay. Because it will cost you really cheap.

If you aren’t lazy enough to wake up in early morning than you are gonna enjoy your coffee with beutiful view of sun riseing from low land villages below you. And when those rays of rising sun hits the mountains, you would see the white colour of mountain changing to orange, than you would feel like you are really in heaven. Don’t forget to use view tower there because the same view from view tower looks something different.

Guide before trek :
– Don’t forget to carry a camera with you if you want to capture beautiful views.
– Carry a water bottle and keep refilling it whenever you see a water tap.
– Don’t forget meet and talk with locals, you would discovre some new things.
– Don’t spend your time in just one place or wou wouldn’t make it to top till evening.
– Don’t over sleep next morning or you would miss the beautiful view.
– And lastly, I would recommend you to spend night in homestay rather than in hotel but it’s upto you.

Thats all about the Koliya Mahadada trek. If you don’t have much more time to enjoy the treking then try Koliya Mahadada trek. You would get same level of experiance and satisfaction by this one day trek. This is the best treking route for those who don’t have enough time. Even if you are begainner in treking than try this route first, and you would have whole knowladge of trek. And you would be prefectly prepared to try other long day treking routes.
Enjoy treking, Enjoy Nature and Enjoy a New Experiance on Koliya Mahadada One day trek route.

Rhino Waterfall – Place to enjoy nature

Rhino Waterfall

Rhino Waterfall has resently discovered waterfall can be found on place called Gaidakhola. Its not so big based on the volume of water falling down but its quite normal while we take a look to its height.

How it become popular

There is no other waterfalls as big as this one in this region, thats the reason why its so populer. Actually no one any idea about Rhino Waterfall before. But as the lockdown goes on incersing, people stucked in their home. So, they started exploring for their refreshment and discovered Rhino Waterfall. Once the person posted a picture of that waterfall, others started doing same visiting the waterfall. This is it become so popular is such short period of time.

Reason behind its name

Actually, the waterfall didn’t had any name before. As it was near to the Rhino River Resort, it was named after the resort and so called Rhino Waterfall. There is nothing to do with Rhino but its the Resort whice gave it a name. This is how a no-named waterfall got its name.

Way to Rhino Waterfall

As the location of Rhino Waterfall is in hilly area the way to this waterfall isn’t so easy. But now-days because of people regularly visiting the waterfall the way has become little easier than of before. Small childerns and old aged people can’t visit that place but there is no any problem for others. You can go on bike upto Rhino River Resort but from there you have to walk on your own. As the way from Resort to Waterfall is a bit similer to trecking route you can even enjoy the similer experience of treaking.
